We were guests on "Mein Nachmittag" on NDR television

We were on TV again :) A few months ago, we were already on NDR television with a pretty nice report in which a journalist visited us in Kiel and had a lot of fun playing with our gadgets. The NDR liked the program so much that they decided to invite our boss Philipp (me, hehe) to their show "My afternoon" program. The show is on the third program of the NDR from Mon-Fri at 4:10 pm and is therefore perhaps not quite what you normally watch on TV, but of course we were still very happy about the invitation. The whole thing was live and therefore something special and I was a bit excited before the shoot :) But before I go into the details: Here is the TV clip for you:

It turned out well, didn't it? The whole show was also a lot of fun :) If you're interested in how it works in detail: My companion Bastian (our marketing manager) and I arrived at NDR around 1:30 p.m. and were welcomed very nicely by a guest hostess. First we were allowed to visit their canteen at the expense of the NDR, which is really very good and cheap, but unfortunately only for employees and guests, otherwise we would go there more often ;)

Incidentally, one really difficult requirement was that I wasn't supposed to wear black clothes. How am I supposed to fulfill that as a nerd? The green sweater above is actually the only sweater in my possession that is not black or at least dark blue and all the hoodies in our store are also black. But on with the program: After the mask we were allowed to relax in the "guest room" of the NDR and watch a little NDR television (we could have switched over, but we wanted to prepare ourselves ;) ):

After about half an hour of waiting, we went into the preliminary discussion with the presenters and other guests. The whole thing took place directly in the studio and while the news was still being spoken next door. The two presenters Kirsten and Arne were very nice and really interested in all the gadgets we had brought with us. I was even able to successfully explain our binary clock to Arne, as you can see in the show :) I was a bit worried during the shoot that it would go wrong, which is why I stood up and thought I would have to take over, but that was obviously unnecessary :) After the preliminary discussion of about 20 minutes, the live broadcast started almost immediately. First we were allowed to watch the beginning of the show from the studio (it was a live show after all) and then we started with the part we included above. What do you think of my impromptu explanation of what a nerd is and what a geek is? I didn't quite get it right, but it's really not that easy to tell the difference. Nevertheless, the conversation was really fun and hopefully comes across as relaxed :) Towards the end of the conversation with me, the presenter Kirsten brags a little that you don't need our laundry folder because she can fold a T-shirt very quickly: I had just shown her this a few minutes before the show, so maybe the laundry folder isn't so unnecessary after all :D If you know the show or feel like watching it in the media library: The whole thing is of course "feel good" television for an older audience and the way the presenters come across in the show, they and the whole team were at least in conversation with us: super nice and always friendly to all colleagues, etc. Sometimes I think it's quite exhausting, I'm afraid there are no bad moods in the concept, but as a guest it's of course very pleasant! Bastian also took more photos:

Sorry for the sometimes poor quality of the photos: The set was of course extremely brightly lit, while the rest was very dark, Bastian only had his cell phone with him and of course wasn't allowed to get too close. But the photos actually turned out very well. Thanks to Bastian for accompanying us and taking the photos :) After we were back in the car to Kiel, there was a somewhat strange call on my private cell phone, where someone wanted to know if I was the guy from the TV and what my homepage would be :D I don't know how he managed to get my cell phone number, but maybe he looked in the phone book instead of googling :) David then showed me a funny email from customer service today:

I saw you on TV, my afternoon. Unfortunately I can't find your online store. So please send me the exact online address.
That alone would not be surprising, but the message was sent via the contact form on our homepage :D
